I’m hosting a pair of seminars and a walkaround tasting on behalf of the Consorzio for the Protection of Valpolicella Wines at Briza on the Bay April 17, 2023. The Valpolicella area of the Veneto in Northeastern Italy is responsible for some of the country’s most iconic wines - Valpolicella of course, but also the very trendy Ripasso and of course the most heralded wine of the Veneto, Amarone della Valpolicella.
I’ll be leading two masterclasses (11am to Noon and 2pm to 3pm) and the walkaround tasting from Noon to 4pm will feature 14 of the region’s top producers offering you an incredible opportunity to taste the range of styles that makes this area so fascinating.
Producers joining me for this exposition of red wine glory include Antiche Terre Venete, Bertoldi, Boscaini Carlo, Bottega Spa, Ca' Del Sette Vini, Cantine Di Verona Sca, Costa Arente, Le Ville Di Antane'. Monte Zovo - Famiglia Cottini, Pasqua Vigneti E Cantine, Santa Sofia, Sartori Di Verona, Tenuta Villa Bellini, Tenute Falezza.
The masterclasses (subject to limited attendance) and the tasting itself are open to members of the wine trade and wine students. To register, simply click the image above!
Benvenuto Brunello, an event held simultaneously in eight cities worldwide, was the debut of the storied 2019 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany’s classic, iconic and all-sangiovese wine. I was the presenter for one of the three American debut tastings, and have the story here.
