Postcards in a Glass
Every glass of wine should tell a story, be an autobiography of sorts that takes you where it originated. There are neutral, generic wines that speak of no place in particular, but a great wine (price is irrelevant here) will share something of its origins, its uniqueness, a reason for you to appreciate it.
I’m preparing now to deliver a bi-weekly podcast to share journeys with wine, with people who make wine and with people who love wine. I want every glass to send you a postcard from somewhere special and this podcast will be your vehicle to visit. It will include interviews, news from the world of wine, and a couple of easy to comprehend tasting notes and recommendations.
Guests I’ll be featuring in the initial series of episodes include winemakers Paul Hobbs (Paul Hobbs Wines), Tim Malone (Appassionata in Oregon) and Gerard Bertrand (Languedoc-Roussillon). We’ll visit wineries in California, Washington State, Oregon, Argentina and France and taste some interesting wines along the way, all the while exploring wine’s sense of place.
