Florida Wine Academy is offering WSET’s advanced certification course in Miami in a carefully constructed series of unperson classes this autumn.. If you are a wine lover with the WSET Level 2 credential, this is the very best way too increase your knowledge and appreciation of wine.
Level 3 is a serious undertaking, but it’s also an immensely rewarding course. We cover a broad range of material and train you in important skills of deductive reasoning to “connect the dots” about wine production and wine style. You will work with me and my fellow instructors including Alessandra Esteves (a stage 2 Master of Wine candidate) coaching you on tasting technique and how best to approach the written theory exam.
The course begins Saturday, September 7, 2024, then continues with full day sessions September 14, 21 and 28. The course ends with an in-person review session, followed by a period for study and then the exam on October 26th. This is by far the best way to approach level 3 - with intensive in-person coaching and study time. Classes are held at the set-of-the-art tasting laboratory at Miami Culinary Institute in Downtown Miami.
If you want to take Level 3, I encourage you to register as soon as possible - when you register, you’ll receive the text, workbook and the Level 3 SAT. Trust me, you want to have a chance to read these through a couple of times before the first class session - there’s a lot of wine here! There are a few places left in this class but the registration deadline is quickly approaching. Benvenuto Brunello, an event held simultaneously in eight cities worldwide, was the debut of the storied 2019 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany’s classic, iconic and all-sangiovese wine. I was the presenter for one of the three American debut tastings, and have the story here.
