I’m excited to be joining my good friend and chef extraordinaire Michael Gilligan at his wonderful country inn, The Henderson in Hendersonville, NC. We are teaming up for a wine dinner in which we match wines from the New World and Old World with Michael’s delicious cuisine.
Each of the four courses will feature a pair of wines made from the same grapes but from different countries: a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and a French Sancerre; a New Zealand Chardonnay and one from Burgundy. Pinot Noir from Burgundy and from Oregon, and Cabernet from Bordeaux and Napa. With each of these pairings Michael has created a dish that will let us see how wine and food goes together and I can assure you, it will be a most harmonious evening!
And to top it off, you are in one of the most gorgeous settings in the Eastern U.S., the mountains of North Caroline. Hendersonville is just a few miles from Asheville, so we’re offering you a glorious and very tasty evening in the fresh mountain air.

Benvenuto Brunello, an event held simultaneously in eight cities worldwide, was the debut of the storied 2019 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany’s classic, iconic and all-sangiovese wine. I was the presenter for one of the three American debut tastings, and have the story here.
