This is a two-day webinar (please note start times are EST) designed by the Italian Trade Authority in cooperation with SlowWine Italy. It is open to wine lovers and the wine trade. It is an intensive, deep dive into Italian wine and not for the faint of heart. We deal with the complexities of Italian wine, survey several hundred grape varieties, explore all the DOCs and DOCG areas and much more. If you have the passion a Italian Wine, and especially if you are a WSET Diploma student, or planning to take the Italian Wine Scholar course, this introductory webinar could be a huge help.
Slow Wine has worked with the Italian Trade Authority to structure this as a two-day program and it does not include a tasting component. However, there is a 40-question exam at the end of the course (to be held at 10am on Wednesday, Feb 23), and the top scorers from that exam will be invited to an exclusive tasting course as well.
The course is offered for five more weeks, each week on a Monday and Tuesday (each week offers the complete course). You choose the week that works best for you and the Italian Trade Authority will send you the materials. I’m teaching the course on February 21 and 22, and we have other wonderful instructors to teach the following weeks. To apply, contact the Italian Trade Authority at this web address:
Benvenuto Brunello, an event held simultaneously in eight cities worldwide, was the debut of the storied 2019 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany’s classic, iconic and all-sangiovese wine. I was the presenter for one of the three American debut tastings, and have the story here.
