Lyn joins forces with the Amernet Quartet for a fun program that celebrates great music in a very informal bistro-like atmosphere in the Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
The performance begins at 8pm, but the doors will open an hour before the concert so you can enjoy light fare and bar service while mingling with Lyn and the musicians. The program itself is fairly short, with alternating sections of music, questions and conversation about the music. From a quartet arrangement of a Beethoven piano sonata to great tangos by Astor Piazzolla and Carlos Gardel, this is a wonderfully eclectic program performed by stellar musicians. The Amernet String Quartet has garnered international recognition as one of today’s exceptional string quartets and serves as Ensemble-in-Residence at Florida International University in Miami.
Join us for a casual and entertaining evening of music - tickets are just $25 and the music will be terrific.
The Evening's Program:
- PIAZZOLLA: Libertango
- SCHULHOFF: Five Pieces for String Quartet
- KORNGOLD: Suite from "Much Ado About Nothing"
- BEETHOVEN: "Pathetique" Sonata, first movement
- GARDEL: Por Una Cabeza

Benvenuto Brunello, an event held simultaneously in eight cities worldwide, was the debut of the storied 2019 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany’s classic, iconic and all-sangiovese wine. I was the presenter for one of the three American debut tastings, and have the story here.
