Join Broward Center Arts Ambassador Lyn Farmer for a preview of the evening's Summerfest Concert by the Mission Chamber Orchestra of Rome conducted by Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese. Lyn incorporates a wine tasting into his pre-concert musical exploration to illustrate how our sense of touch and taste can enhance our appreciation of aural texture as well. As befits the program of light music by the Roman ensemble, Lyn will highlight some musical points with two Italian wines, a spritzy white vermentino and and beguiling sparkling wine that happens to be red.
The pre-concert presentation is in the beautiful new Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom at 7:15 and will wrap up in time for you to make the 8pm curtain in the Amaturo Theater. Lyn's presentation is complimentary for all ticket holders but seats are offered on a first-come, first-served basis so plan to arrive early to be assured of a seat (and a glass!)
Benvenuto Brunello, an event held simultaneously in eight cities worldwide, was the debut of the storied 2019 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany’s classic, iconic and all-sangiovese wine. I was the presenter for one of the three American debut tastings, and have the story here.
